Alright, Today I worked on bringing the PHP game that I used to host on my home computer to my new website, It is working just go to mikelaren.com and click the Game Link at the top of the page. Have Fun.
I am working on my site again, I think I am having trouble designing it because I don’t really know what I want it to look like. I have setup a forum though, which can be used to discuss stuff. I want to being the PHP Card game over to this site too, then create separate pages for my various projects. This is very much still a work in progress.
I have set a goal for myself to find at least one geocache per day in 2010, so far I have only missed one day which was Jan 4th. I have been in quite a few interesting situations this year because of this goal. I have been out in a very thick manzanita forest during a downpour and got completely soaked. I have been chased by a bull Into a tree. I have been in a roadside cave at 1 am and had to turn off my flashlight as cars drove past. I should bring my flip camera just in case something interesting happens, because interesting things do happen.
Today I was working on transferring my php points game to this site, I got the code over, but I still need to copy over the mysql databases so it actually works. Its February now and I have managed to find at least one Geocache everyday this month except for January 4th. I will try to continue this trend but as I find them I have to travel farther to find new ones so I’m not sure how much longer I will be able to continue. I use too many I’s in this I blog I. I I I will try to talk about other things.
I’m trying out the Disqus comment system, will it be useful? Who knows, maybe people will use it maybe not. If you are reading this try leaving a comment in the Disqus window, just so I can see how it works and what happens.
I have been trying to learn how to customize css today, I discovered that the reason it wasn’t working is that the div names on tumblr are different than the ones they give you with the code they give you with a javascript. So I had to find out what all the divs are called and modify my css file to match them since I can’t change the html I am getting from tumblr. Expect this page to look better soon.
I am trying to figure out css, I have been out of the web design game for quite a while and this is a whole new language for me that i am trying to figure out. I am also trying to keep all the markup clean and complying to standards, it is a learning process and once i get is figured out a bit I will start putting more interesting things here, I made a game which uses PHP and you can design cards to give or take away points from other players, the points are pointless and there is no goal except the ones you set for yourself. The game is down for now but I would like to post it to this site in the near future.
